DSV Sastry, Founder

DSV Sastry is a multi-faceted artist known for his prowess in Carnatic and Kuchipudi music. He is a Vocalist, Nattuvanar, Music Composer, and a Dance Choreographer. He has written and composed various keertanas and thillanas apart from creating a new raga – ‘Sripriya’. He is well known for his contribution to Kuchipudi Yakshagana sangeetham. He has one of the unique records of having been part of either the music or nattuvangam of almost all prestigious contemporary Kuchipudi performances in the world. Mr. Sastry currently works as a Vocalist in the Department of Dance, SN school, University of Hyderabad. He also trains students in Carnatic Music and Kuchipudi dance. Mr. Sastry holds a Sangeeta Alankar Degree and a Bachelors Degree in Carnatic Music from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University.


Katyayani Thota

Katyayani Thota, Co-Founder

Katyayani is is a leading Kuchipudi artiste, choreographer who has performed at many a venue across the country. She has also performed at Festival of India in China. Katyayani is a graded Doordarshan artiste and is also a regular contributor to journals and websites dedicated to arts. Dance and anything to do with dance gives her immense joy leading her to establish Lasyakalpa Foundation. Katyayani holds a Ph.D in Dance from the University of Hyderabad. a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Dance, SN School, University of Hyderabad, under Prof. Anuradha Jonnalagadda. She completed Masters in Performing Arts (Kuchipudi) from the same institution after being initially trained in Kuchipudi under Smt. Mallika Ramprasad and Smt. PB Krishna Bharathi. She presently collaborates with Guru DSV Sastry and is training to specialize as a soloist in Kuchipudi dance. She is a Co-Founder of Lasyakalpa Foundation.    


Sahiti Reddy Vedire, Co-Founder

Sahiti Reddy is a graded Doordarshan artiste in Kuchipudi and has performed in India, US and the UK since the age of 10. She has volunteered with several dance organizations in India and the US. To expand the reach of Indian Classical Arts in Hyderabad, she has cofounded Lasyakalpa Foundation. Sahiti Reddy has completed a certificate program in Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies and also holds a Masters Degree in Performing Arts from the University of Hyderabad. She currently teaches Kuchipudi and Laban Movement in San Jose, California through her institution, Zeva Movement.
